Good ambiance, service was fast and they showed us to our table. I like that they're trying new things and experimenting with different food combinations especially with the dessert, however those combinations were not the best. The food was okay, didn't taste like komala villas though. Ordered the mutton dosa which was nice but was surprised with the portion size as it was really small. And it only came with 1 piece of mutton which was extremely disappointing. The rasam burger was small as well and it was missing the tomatos which made it very dry, it also didn't taste like rasam so I had to buy a seperate rasam dish and dip the burger in it to get the taste. Realized they like to put a kind of podi on most of their food, that I feel ruined the dish. As someone obsessed about mushrooms, the roasted mushroom would have been nicer without that podi on top. The ginger tea we ordered was very watered down and bitter, end up never drink it. The bru coffee was nice. The chocolate mysore pak we ordered came out Nothing like the picture. The chocolate looks nothing compared to the picture and the pic showed mini chocolate ball crunch on top came out cheap rainbow sprinkles instead. That was very disappointing and the mysore pak did not taste nice, end up never eat it also. The churros would also have been nicer without that powdery thing on it. The toilet wasn't very clean and worst of all is the waiter guy came into the women's toilet. I think this is serious and need to be addressed, it was very uncomfortable. Overall the food is average, the portion size for tapas menu is small, more like a kids meal. Had to go to another restaurant to eat again cuz we were still hungry. The price is not really expensive so that's definitely a plus. I like that the price is inclusive of GST so you know how much you're really paying. While we were taking our last few mouths of coffee and dessert the waiter came with the bill which is a gesture to leave. I think that's unprofessional as we were still eating/drinking. I wanted to order more food but forgot about it as he gave me the bill and brought the machine over for me to pay. There was a customer waiting but there were also other seats available. And a more polite way would be to wait till we finished and asked if there was anymore orders and if they could bring the bill over instead of shoving the machine at us forcing us to leave.

We usually get delivery from fennel and have never been disappointed but always get dishes that can be easily reheated. Today we went dined in and were really impressed by both the food and the service. Reddy was really awesome in getting our orders correct and catering to our requests as well. He made sure the food came out piping hot. He was also very hospitable and made us comfortable. We will be dining in more often at Fennel! 10/10 highly recommend!

This place gets crowded during peak hours on weekends. It can take some time to get a table especially with a large group, take note. The food was awesome. Modern twist on vegetarian South Indian food done right. Had the Mumbai dosa which was filled with vege, enjoyed it. Cheese vadai- it was very nice but I felt the price is way too steep- $7 for 1 vadai in-between a bun. Pani puri- nice but maybe not to my taste buds. Prices for the mains are reasonable. Spent slightly below $40 for 2 mains, 2 appetisers and 1 drink. Will be back to try other dosas. Will bring my vege friends too.
